Discovering Blockley and the local area
Blockey is a beautiful village just 3 miles from Chipping Campden. It is known
locally as " The Secret Village" and is largely unspoilt by time.
Blockley has a history
going back 12 Centuries. Once a main centre of the Silk
Industry which thrived in the 18th and 19th Centuries.
The impressive Mills ( now private homes) remain, situated along Blockley Brook which rises in the Dovedale Woods above
the village.
Do
come and discover the delights and charms Blockley and the
North Cotswolds for yourself. The local countryside is of exceptional beauty and is renowned for
its pretty villages. Historic Blenheim Palace, Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, Chipping Campden, The Slaughters, Sudeley Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare Country), Warwick Castle and many other historic and interesting places are within easy touring distance. |
How to find us
From London to A44 to Worcester. After Moreton In Marsh turn right to Bourton-on-the-Hill then look
for the turning on the right (B4479). This takes you directly to our house situated past the Great Western Arms on your
right and the Rural Retreats again on your right. We are only yards beyond the wooden bus shelter on your left.
From the South. Take the A429 to Moreton In Marsh, then branch to the left for Bourton-on-the-Hill (A44).
From the North. Take the A429 to Moreton In Marsh, then branch to the right for Bourton-on-the-Hill (A44).
From the West (Worcester A44). Via Broadway by-pass. At the top of Fish Hill take the third turning to the left marked Blockley.
Take the second turning left then left at the Bus Shelter. Left at the next junction (Station Road) we are on the left of this road with a lay-by in front of the house.
